Agapetus (535-536) & (946-955)

Agapetus was the name of two medieval popes,

St. Agapetus I  assisted in the establishment of a library of ecclesiatical books at Rome and deposed Anthimus, the Patriarch of Constantinople. He died at Constantinople where he had been sent by Theodahad, the King of the Goths.

Agapetus II  was a Roman by birth. His attempts  to free Rome and the Papacy from degredation failed, despite his hope for aid from Otto the Great of Germany,  because Alberic, the real ruler of Rome was to powerful.
