Al-Kindi
Abu Yusuf Ya‘qub ibn Ishaq Al-Kindi was a 9th Century Arabian Philosopher. Born in Kufah (Iraq) in 801 his numerous writings covered such diverse subjects as medicine, geography, astronomy and chemistry.
