Alamansur
Abu Jaffar Abdallah (c.712-775) called Alamansur (Arabic fot 'The Victorious' ) was the second caliph of the Abbasid dynasty. He succeeded his brother in 754 and during his reign established the city of Baghdad. Hs reign also saw the Abbasid lose control over Spain and Africa. In addition Alamansur brutally persecuted the Syrian and Egyptian Christians.
