Alborak
Gil Alvarez Carillo Alborak (1310-1367) Archbishop of Toledo and chancellor of Castile duting the reign of Alfonso XI of Castile. He distinguished himself fighting the Moors at Tarifa and Algeciras. Created Cardinal in 1350 he was put in charge of the papal armies to restore the pope's authority in the papal states. By skillful diplomacy and force of arms he thus prepared the way for the return (in 1378) of the popes from Avignon to Rome.
