Alexius I Comnenus
Alexis I Comnenus (1048-1118) Byzantine Emperor worked to delay the break up of the Eastern Empire. He allied with Venice to curb Norman expansion into Albania, in 1116 he won a crushing victory over the Seljuk Turks.
