Alfred of Rievauix (C.1109-1167)
St. Alfred of Rievauix (aka Æthelred), spent much of his early life in the service of David I of Scotland. He became a monk in about 1134 and. Abbot of Rievauix, Yorkshire in 1147. His works on history include a biography of the life of Edward the Confessor. .
