Amboise
Georges d' Amboise (1460-1510) was a French Cardinal and statesman.
Much favoured at the Court of Orleans be was apponted Archbishop of Narbonne in 1492 and Archbishop or Rouen in 1493.
On the succession of Louis XII he became a Cardinal and Chief Minister. Amboise's domestric anf foreign policies were quite moderate and beneficial but his hopes of becoming Pope after Alexander VI proved unsuccessful. Thereafter he spent the remainder of his life in abortive political scheming.
