Ari Thorgilsson
Ari Thorgilsson (c. 1067-1148) was an Icelandic chieftain, priest, and historian.
.Author of Íslendingabók (1133) , A history of the settlement of Iceland up to 1120 which included details of Danish settlements in both Greenland and North America
In addition heis also credited with contributing much to the Landnámabók- a work listing the genealogies and histories of Icelandic nobles.
