Avicenna
Avicenna (Ibn Sina) (979-1037) was an Arabian physician and philosopher. His most famous medical work was his Canon of Medicine, in 5 books. Avicenna's second most important work is Book of Recovery. this contains treatises on logic, physics, mathematics, metaphysics, etc., which determined the classification of the sciences as taught in the medieval schools of Europe.
