Barbour
John Barbour (c.1316-1395) was a noted Scottish poet and Archdeacon of Aberdeen from 1357. In 1376 he completed an epic poem in 20 books, The Bruce, This narrated the deeds of Robert Bruce, King of Scotland, and the Lord James Douglas in the Scottish wars of Independence.
