(Bl.) FERDINAND OF PORTUGAL (1402 - 1443)
Son of King John I of Portugal.
Master-General of the military Order of Aviz.
Conducted expeditions against Moors and was finally defeated in Tangiers. He was taken hostage, and remained a prisoner for five years, dying of neglect.
