My kids have picked up on my passion for medieval history.  I have found a few products that are real winners for young kids (ages 3-8ish) who are interested in this period.  However, I noticed that it's very hard to find good quality toys and books about this period.  I thought I'd share what I found and then encourage others to post their recommendations.

Book for early readers: In the Castle (Usborne First Reading) by Anna Milbourne

Really neat book with busy castle scenes: A Year in a Castle (Time Goes By) by Rachel Coombs

Great, detailed, durable jousting knights on horseback by Safari, Ltd.

Smaller knight figures: Safari Ltd "Knights and Dragon Toob".

Calaphant Dragonrock Castle: cardboard castle that kids build and color (great with the Toob knights)

Disney's The Sword in the Stone DVD

There must be more books, toys, movies, and TV shows out there!
