Medieval Glossary


A steel helmet that was often worn by archers.

The Italian version of this helmet had a slight bell shape, pointed neck guard, and long, horizontal vision slits in its fixed vistor. The German version was more rounded with a long tail. The English version fell somewhere between the other two.
